Our college is a co-educational, multicultural state secondary school in central/east Auckland. We serve a diverse urban environment covering a wide range of ethnic, social and economic situations.
Due to the retirement of our long-serving deputy principal, we are looking for a visionary and collaborative leader to join our senior leadership team. Our school values of māia|courage, manaakitanga|care and manawa reka|curiosity underpin our teaching and learning, and your ability to lead based on these values as well as culturally sustaining and restorative practices is an expectation.
We are seeking a dedicated education professional with a reputation for engaging, inspiring, challenging and empowering both students and staff. You will have the ability to lead future-focused pedagogy; be committed to professional learning and teacher inquiry; collaborative; optimistic; innovative and organised.
In particular this role has responsibility for:
- Ensuring high-quality teaching and learning that supports meaningful learning and student agency
- Future-focused and student learning centred curriculum development
- Staff professional learning, development and welfare
- Middle leadership development
- Pastoral care and induction of Y9 learners, in collaboration with cohort dean
- Appraisal, evaluation, and self-review.
Other aspects of the role will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
